OVERVIEW
The colonnaded tholos of the Hall of Heroes flanks the Temple of Iroas. Slightly lower
and crowned with gold sculptures as allegories of Honor and
Glory, the temple is dedicated to the athletes.
The interior of the Hall of Heroes opens into two floors and a
dome with a lantern that allows sunlight to enter.
Vaulted niches on both floors house sculptures of glories of
the different disciplines that won at the Iroas Games in Akros
in the past and now serve as inspiration. All are crowned with
olive branches and some element or emblem of their discipline.
