Agorrus Theatre

OVERVIEW

One of the most important entertainment centers of Meletis and the scene of some of the greatest plays in all of Theros, this theater was founded by Agorrus, former leader of the city and lover of the arts, who intervened in the city to enrich it with some of its most beautiful constructions. The theater has a long tradition and the actors of Theros prove their worth here, exposed to the exquisite taste of the greatest playwrites of the day. The pinnacle of an author is to premiere his plays here, and only the most important works are hosted on this illustrious stage. Admission is free until full capacity is reached, which always causes a brawl at the door. To avoid further public unrest, the Phenáxicus Theater was built after the Agorrus Theater. Today the Agorrus mainly hosts tragedies and plays of deeper intellectuality, while the lighter plays and comedies are performed in the Phenaxicus. The Twelve, the masters of the DeKatia and the High Priest of the Pyrgnos have a reserved box in this theater in the first row.

Stepping inside the Agorrus Theatre, the interior exudes a sense of deep intellectual and artistic history. The stage, set for tragedies and intellectually profound plays, is beautifully crafted of mahogany and white marble, with attention to every detail.   The seating area, designed to offer an intimate connection with the stage, is filled with the soft rustling of papyrus and the murmur of an expectant audience.
