Lycanthropy
Transmission & Vectors
Transmitted via bite. Some races are heartier than others when the time comes.
Causes
Lycanthropy presents itself in stressful situations. Being threatened or in a fight, in unfamiliar surroundings or just plain scared.
Symptoms
wretching pain followed by body contortions ending with a tall, muscular beast full of claws and teeth.
Treatment
There is no known cure for this curse except death.
Prognosis
A current carrier of lycanthropy can live a normal life as long as it isn't too exciting. Once life gets interesting, the game is on and very dangerous.
Prevention
Don't get bitten.
Epidemiology
Transmitted by bite when a pack of werewolves corner an unlucky soul who then manages to survive. They will live, and probably pass it on to others and the circle continues.
