History

In 385 PC, Lord Chauncer "Strongboat" Bourgeone, second Son of Count Gregor Bourgeone, sailed from the Peaks of the Occitan Mountains and followed the river to settle new land. As Aquitaine Saw the growing power from Nearby Lisboa, Lords of Aquitaine saw that speedy settlement of the region was nesscesary in order to secure the land north of Illac Bay. Fearing Lisboa attacking Occitan Ships in Illac Bay, Lord Chauncer took a small expiditionary force and settlers to secure a foothold in the penninsula. Sailing from the the river eastward, the group set ashore in a bay on a lake. when settling the location, the team were ambushed by Hobgoblins. As the Hobgoblins fought Chauncers force, the Lake began to turn from a bluish-Green to a Crimson red. This forced the Morale of the attacking Hobgoblins to diminish and force a retreat. Chauncer took this as a victory and a sign from Hermaya, Goddess of War and Warfare. Chauncer named the Settlement, and the lake "Kaminrot" (Old Mideko for "Blood Lake"). This remained the name until Duke Jakob Walder renamed the City Svboda in honor of the freedom from Aquitaine and the new Capital of the nation "Waldermore."
