Idris is named after the The Legend of Idriana, a myth involving a girl named Idriana. In the myth she managed to charm the Storm Lord himself, Theren.

The city claims to be the birth place of the actual Idriana, but whether or not that's true is speculative.

The city holds an annual festival in celebration of their namesake and of love.
