Single Generation Schools

There are two models of schooling in Theoma. One of them, the common manner, is to assemble tutors to a child. This requires moderate organization to achieve. The other one, which requires considerably more organization and the cooperation of a collection of would-be parents, is to assemble an entire apparatus of schooling for a group of children to be reared together so that they will have peers and equals even from a young age. Such schools are called Single Generation Schools. They are most associated with the Lineal Society, which prides itself on pulling together such collections to provide what it believes is an ideal education for future Theomans.

There are no upper or under classes in a Single Generation School, and all students of a particular school are of the same age. Instructors retained for a span of years give instructions and challenges to students who meet in classrooms built for the purpose. Oftentimes the classrooms are of a somewhat lower build quality than much of Theoma's construction, as they are expected to be torn down within a few years when there is no longer a class to be had, but some of these schools are repurposed from other structures which exist before the Single Generation School and are reclaimed as purposes afterwards. In a few of the most urban theomes (particularly where the Lineal Society is most entrenched), multiple such "Schools" may at times occupy the same building, but there are no theomes that grow at such a rate as to have permanent school buildings.
