Negotiable Theomes

Some of the land gods have ambivalent attitudes towards people. They only love so many people, or they only love certain kinds of people, or they don't really love people at all except they have a soft spot for people who love the same thing they love in some way. Such are the land gods who run Negotiable theomes. Negotiable theomes are all potentially very dangerous, but they are generally considered negotiable with care and attention, like a kind of hazardous terrain. Most of them have low populations.

Religious sentiment tends to be much stronger in negotiable theomes than in benevolent theomes. Worshipping the land god may be necessary outright in some of these places, but more commonly the land god's preferences are studied intensely by people hoping to be safe in the more disperse and rural areas that negotiable theomes offer.

Someone's Ideal

Every Negotiable theome magnifies someone's idea of an extraordinarily beautiful place. Many of them are natural areas, and so druidic faiths operate throughout, though some of them are more unconventional than that. Beautiful rural areas are some of the most beloved negotiable theomes. Challenging mystic areas are some of the most feared negotiable theomes.

Someone's Challenge

'Mystic' theomes make the most unconventional use of Fate. They know visitors much too well and offer personalized visions to people who spend much time in them. Since mystic theomes rarely try to kill people, they are not generally considered hostile theomes. Since they provide psychologically difficult living conditions, they are generally considered a kind of negotiable theome, and they usually have extremely low populations of almost nobody. Journeying to mystic theomes is a preoccupation of some geomancers who seek blessings from the land gods that rule mystic theomes, and also of some spiritualists who seek self-masteries through the lessons that mystic theomes provide.
