Perelglen Settlement in Thelekar | World Anvil

Perelglen

Perelglen is the one of the oldest settlements in Tysha, along with Witehold and Mistdale. Despite its large size and notable status as the major producer of Tysha's metalworks, it was never made the capitol of the newly born kingdom, instead losing that position to Honrich, a city that had not yet been built. Much of the Viret Hold, Adran's Square, and even the city walls themselves were built by Perelglen stonemasons and blacksmiths, as even the arrogant leaders of House Viret could not ignore their incredible skill. Perelglen has remained a city of industry ever since, utilizing elemental engines to run heat to the many buildings within city limits to combat the bitter cold of the Girdellan Peaks. Running water has also been implemented in public buildings, and a public works project is currently underway by order of House Khilkov to extend this luxury to residential homes. Khilkov's fabled familiarity with elementals, aberrations, and all sorts of other monsters is likely thanks to the elementals they use to power their homeland with heat and water, and because of this they can focus their resources more directly to helping their citizens rather than struggling simply to keep their people alive. Community greenhouses full of hardy plants that grow north of Valeria's Pass are tended to daily, with the produce being distributed to those most in need. None go homeless; everyone is granted a small home and are designated a job that helps keep the city running even during the coldest temperatures. Despite the harsh weather, many people have fled from the much warmer cities of the south to live among the Rushal. Wherever Khilkov and Durnovo banners fly, House Guissac debt collectors have no legal power and are arrested by guards on site.
