Deneighrim
Captial of Feralden
Deneighrim is the capital of Feralden as well as an arling of the kingdom and the seat of the annual Landsmeet. It is built around the base of a mountain known as Dragon's Peak. The Drakon River crosses the city from west to east before ending in the Amareranthine Ocean.
Deneighrim is considered a holy city to worshipers of Andraste, as it is the place of her birth. Home of both nobility and the common pony, this sprawling city has much to offer the adventurer, with its market place, magic shops, armorers and bordellos. However, one cannot let one's eye rest on a single place for too long, lest a back alley brawler or thief cut one's purse strings, or one's throat.
- Heavily armed and armored warriors may dominate the battlefield but duelists rule the streets and alleys of cities like Deneighrim and Val Ruggiereaux. In such conditions the quick blades and wits of duelists count for more than raw strength. They eschew cumbersome shields and fight with a weapon in each hand instead. They have even developed a weapon set customized for their style of fighting. The classic duelist fights with a rapier and either a main gauche or a spiked buckler in their off-hand, though some pride themselves on fighting with more unusual weapon combinations.
History
