Session 20 - The Goons Fall

Barack'O - Level 5 Half-Orc, Bear Totem Barbarian

Report:

With the Goons weakened from their battle with Nazaire and the shambling mound, the cadaverous hag takes the opportunity of their depleted state to attack the goons. Aether casts web on the hideous female and restrains the creature before it can move to attack them. Duncun lets fly a couple arrows both hitting the hag and Barack runs up to her and swings his greataxe into her. Aether produces a magical flame and hurls it at the creature sitting the webbing inflame. The hag turns to Barack and uses her gaze to deal necrotic damage as well as incapacitate the barbarian, breaking him out of his rage. She then rakes her clawed hands against him knocking the half-orc unconscious as the webbing he is standing in catches aflame. The hag summons a specter that attempts to drain the life out of Aether but she resists Duncun retreats back to gain some distance and continues to shoot at the horrible creature. Panicked Aether casts flame blade and attempts to swing at the specter but in her state misses the ghostly figure, the hag run passes Aether and specter to attack Duncun and Aether swings her flame sword at the creature but losing her nerves misses it as it runs past. With the hag creature upon him, Duncun draws his greatsword and swings into the monster. The specter begins to drain Aether's life and she tries to fight back but fails to deliver a blow to the ghost with her flame blade. The hag claws at Duncun and he loses consciousness. Aether regaining some composure runs to Duncun's aid gives him a healing word and sinks her flame blade into the hag monster. The hag then turns her attention to the young druid and claws at her while the specter catches up to Aether and drains what remaining life she has. Duncun revived jumps back up and defiantly slashes out at the hag as she slashes his throat with her claws.

With the Goons slain, Nazaire killed, and his fallen children fled. Acraecea the qwyllion is now free to enjoy and corrupt this hidden oasis.
