Ptoh & The Birth of Black Star

Ptoh & The Black Star

A constant in the daylight sky the black star shines during the day and gives of black light and disappears at night. The true tale of the black star was conflicted for centuries amongst the different cultures each species had their own origin story for the black star; the orcs claimed a giants had poked a hole in the sky to create it, while the Dwarves claimed it was a spot of black paint that Garron had used for his paints, the high elves were quick refute this claim thought and some fanatical ancient cults would worship the black star as an Ancient. While the elves story had been the closest as they theorized it had been created out of the birth of Samak, based on stories Garron from before the black star that he didn't remember it being around before Samak was born but wasn't there when it happened. It is the consensus opinion of The Recorded Truth, which they validated after negotiating a trip up the Tengu's Mountain that the Hikō no haha is the true tale of how the Black Star was formed.

Hikō no haha

Long before the Alyah will the god Faegor to sprout from the earth, While the wars between the dragons, giants and ancients still raged. There lived a ordinary crow high in the mountains who would bathe in a crystal clear mountain spring at the top of a tall peak, now if this was a normal spring that would be the end of this tale. For our sake, the Tengu, It is fortunate that this spring was deeply connected to the roots of Alyah for as the crow bathed with each new day, the spring's magic became apart of her and she grew large and wise enough to name her self, Ptoh. There are many tales of Ptoh and her battles against the gluttonous giants and greedy dragons her mighty wings could summon storms with a single flap and her illusions could recreate entire worlds and none were a match for her. One day it occurred to her as it occurs to all with wisdom, That she desired to pass down her knowledge so when she quickened for the first time in a millennia she would lay the largest egg ever know. She retreated from the conflicts of the others nurturing her egg taking breaks only to eat and bathe in her spring before returning. As she sat to keep her egg sheltered from the world she would; sing songs, reassure, and regal it with battle stories and the young egg would rock with amusement with each adventure. One day when she visited her spring she found that her spring was shattered and destroyed by two beings unlike any she'd seen before they were of they bore thick silver hair on their heads and thin skin all across their bodies. Ptoh didn't know the results of the war of dragons and giants for she had been guarding her egg for all this time. With the loss of her spring fury consumed Ptoh and as the three battled, the mountains shook and the sky cracked, leaving the black star in the sky above our mountain, a star which appears only during the day and gives off black light. The demons would tear Ptoh apart and her tears would roll down the mountain side, and with the last of her magic she would leave a message for her children in the form of an illusion that dances upon the rock where she took her last breath.

"Knowing that I will not witness you my children, I feel a greater sorrow than I have ever known. From you're egg I can tell you will become great as you have the strength of warriors, the minds of scholars and passion of artists. The world I grew up in is full of wars, old hatreds and death. I hope that you'll be able to fly above their petty squabbles to purse your dreams and take care of each other as best you can. Know that I will be with you, through your sorrows and your joys for a Mother's love lasts long past her life."
