Bloodstone

Bloodstone is a very important mineral export for all of The Wraith Globe. Bloodstone is a commodity all over the world, as it is naturally formed almost 20,000 feet under the ground. However, this is not the only depth it can be found at. After The High Cataclysm, everything within the earth got shifted around drastically. This caused extremely rare crystallized ores like Bloodstone to be moved to shallower areas of soil, sometimes 1/10 of the distance down from where they would usually form. However, the rarity of Bloodstone is not the only reason it is so expensive and pricey to buy. Bloodstone is also a very common component in high-level spells. Some of these spells are the most powerful in the Wraith Glove, and require a specific artifact to produce. An example of this is The Tome of Prospects, which is an extremely powerful artifact which can change the flow of time itself. Vast amounts of refined Bloodstone are needed to use the Tome, however, and a specific 9th level spell must be cast every time you use the Tome as well, or the caster will spontaneously burst into flames. Now that many of the places that once had Bloodstone veins near to the surface have been completely exhausted, few places in the Wraith Globe have raw Bloodstone that is easy to access. It is rumored that the U.S.A, short for the Ucruan Science Association, is developing a method to mine Bloodstone from its natural depth of 20,000 feet beneath the earth, but these rumors have not been confirmed. this method would also have a drawback, as mining 20,000 feet under the ground would be extremely expensive for any government that dared to accept such an undertaking.
