The Mulnwan

The Tinkers of the Depths

A Ragha Mulnwan's Garage and Lab.
Slim, slender and small the Mulnwan are petite, dusky skinned humanoids who live alongside Mulnwahr on the world of Helraad.     These folk are incredibly individualistic, their society loosely based around immediate family with little real regard for extended clan and family. They respect the laws of the Ragha because they have no qualms about leaving a Ragha they find constrictive.    Adventurers and wanderers are very common among the Mulnwan, they love to find technology, recreate and iterate on it.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Small creatures with wiry frames, they are totally hairless across their entire body. Females tend to be larger than males but other then that, they are not strongly dimorphic aside from genitalia, which are similar to Mulnwahr.

Genetics and Reproduction

Mulnwan have few children though unlike their Mulnwahr cousins, it has more to do with their solitary lifestyle than it does with any physiological issues. Whenever they do have children, couples can have dozens of children.

Growth Rate & Stages

Mulnwan age slowly and live long, though less than Mulnwahr.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Mulnwan, when on their own will cultivate mushrooms and hunt any indigenous life that can be found on Helraad. They are not generally interested in agriculture and are happy to let Mulnwahr handle that aspect of things when it comes to the Ragha.    This theme is carried with them throughout the system, they are fully capable of finding and creating their own food but have little interest in doing so.    Food off of Helraad generally agrees with them well without much in the way of considerations.

Behaviour

A generally lawful people, they will obey the laws of the land or leave to find a place where the laws agree with them more.    Mulnwan thought processes are chaotic, generally jumping from idea to idea and only finding focus on things they are incredibly interested in...or have a vested interest in keeping working. They get along well with most people but tend to be distant friends as they often forget social niceties.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The Mulnwan social structure is very loose and they have a tendency to emulate and integrate within whatever society they are closest to.    Immediate family, children and parents are close but beyond that they do not have much interaction or even keep track of wider family connections. Children stay with their parents until they are ready to leave and often leave without much fanfair to pursue their own interests.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Mulnwan rarely live in communities of their own and have almost entirely integrated into the Mulnwahr Ragha that traverse the ancient tunnels beneath Helraad. Whenever they do form communities of their own, they are usually on the same tunnel systems, mini Ragha of their own though without the level of rules and authority.    Easily half of the Gilnares systems Mulnwan live off of Helraad at this point, spread across the moons.    They are found all over Old Union Space.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They see exceedingly well in the dark and have an innate sense for technology and tinkering.

Civilization and Culture

Gender Ideals

There is no emphasis on gender and aside from relationships and personal preferences, most Mulnwan do not care about this aspect of their lives very much.

Courtship Ideals

What amounts to a good courtship differs entirely from Mulnwan to Mulnwan, accounting for cultural influences and other such things. A Mulnwan in a Mulnwahr Ragha might have more formal dating and marriage considerations while those living among the Eowar might not even consider marriage an option and opt to live a free wheeling lifestyle like their hosts.

Average Technological Level

The Mulnwan are the drivers of technological growth on Helraad and had been for centuries. Whenever the Union of Gilnares made contact and incoporated the Ragha into the Union they had their hands on an entirely new spectrum of tech and they have not looked back since.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Mulnwan get along exceedingly well with other species, often to the detriment to their own species. They are so individualistic that families and individual Mulnwan will almost become little versions of whatever species they are living in close proximity to.    They form fast friendships that they never forget, even if they never make an effort to see the friend again and they have no regard for species when it comes to this.

Mulnwan off Helraad

Mulnwan find life off of Helraad very physically agreeable, and they integrate easily among other societies.

Mulnwan on the World-Ragha

The giant stations that float above Helraad that are the half finished promise from the Union of Gilnares to help the species of Helraad reach their full potential unmoored from the hazards of their homeworld are arguably safer than many places on Helraad. The Mulnwan have taken over as the primary designers and innovators of the World-Ragha   The stations are a mixture of all the races of Helraad as well as many from beyond, the Mulnwan live their relatively solitary lives on all levels of the stations.

Mulnwan in the Union of Gilnares

The Mulnwan integrated readily within the Union of Gilnares and spread throughout Union space, forming far reaching communities to the point where there are just as many Mulnwan off Helraad as there are on it.   Though they were happy in the Union, their society as a whole has so little cohesion that there is not any real consensus to the Dissolution. The opinion is very much on the individual.
