The Realms

There are nine major realms on the path of cultivation. Each of which is divided into three minor realms, early, mid, peak. There is also the half-step which is not quite a realm of its own, but represents those who are on the verge of breaking through. Traditionally cultivators are titled with a description of their school along with their realm. For instance a cultivator who studies the Rhino's Rampage school and was in the Warrior realm would be a Martial Warrior. While one who studied the Violent Wave and was in the Imperial realm would be a Spiritual Emperor/Empress.   Mortal/Apprentice (DC 8/9/10) (Skill: 5, x1) (x1 Combat) (40 Years) (Mortal Treasures)   Barely better than mortals and easily broken through. At least if you have talent. Many people do not and stay apprentices their entire lives. Some can't even break through to the early realm of apprentice and are only cultivators in the sense that they know how to absorb Qi. An apprentice can mostly do anything a mortal can, but their stamina is better so they can fight or work longer. The vast majority of the population is at this level.   Warrior (DC 12/13/14) (Skill: 10, x2) (x2 Combat) (60 Years) (Earth Treasures)   Warriors have fully stepped onto the path of cultivation. A warrior can perform feats of strength and skill far beyond a mortal or apprentice, and can fight for days on end without food, sleep, or water. They would be superhuman if it wasn't for the fact that a large fraction of the population of the world are warriors. So it's more of a baseline.   Master (DC 19/22/24) (Skill: 15, x4) (x4 Combat) (80 Years) (Gold Treasures)   Veterans of their schools, masters can perform astonishing feats of both combat and craftsmanship. They can wipe out entire battalions of lesser cultivators and are generally trusted in leadership roles over their lessers.   Grandmaster (DC 40/50/55) (Skill: 20, x8) (x12 Combat) (100 Years) (Mystic Treasures)   This realm is regarded as the Mountain of the Earth. It is not uncommon for people who simply live long enough to eventually become grandmasters at the end of their lives. And they are undoubtedly very strong. For their remaining years they can dominate their surroundings and lead their sects and clans. And then they die of old age. Far more uncommon is the genius who becomes a grandmaster in their first few decades of life. For they have conquered the peak of the mortal realms and can make an attempt at something grander.   Monarch (DC 70/80/90) (Skill: 25, x16) (x48 Combat) (200 Years) (Royal Treasures)   This realm is the first that significantly increases the lifespan of those who reach it. It also unlocks vast amounts of chi which enable Monarchs to perform mystical feats that their lessers can only dream of. As the name suggests monarchs usually rule kingdoms. Either ones they establish, inherit, or conquer. Despite this the world is vast and there are many kingdoms. So monarchs aren't exactly rare.   Imperial (DC 110/120/130) (Skill: 30, x32) (x240 Combat) (400 Years) (Imperial Treasures)   Emperors and Empresses are however. Those who are strong enough to control many rulers can unite kingdoms into empires. Able to shatter mountains and part oceans, Emperors are unparalleled in all they do. These are the strongest people in the world. At least that most people would know of.   Venerable (DC 210/250/285) (Skill: 35, x64) (x2400 Combat) (1000 Years) (Ancient Treasures)   This is the Mountain of the Heavens. Even among the rare geniuses who make it to Imperial few can climb it. The most ancient and powerful empires are said to have Venerable ancestors protecting them from the shadows. They rarely make a move however, and thus their abilities are shrouded in mystery.   Saint (DC 335/365/395) (Skill: 40, x128) (x240,000 Combat) (3000 Years) (Transcendent Treasures)   It is said that some few Saints wander the world. They rarely need to fight however for their very presence alters the laws of the world in their favor. They can control the fate of countless mortals with a mere thought. Thus few know of them or their plans. For unless they choose to reveal themselves no one will ever find them.   Immortal (DC 500/560/620) (Skill: 45, x256) (x240,000,000 Combat) (Immortal) (Celestial Treasures)   Saints can die. Immortals can't. It is said that instead they ascend to the heavens to continue their path far beyond the knowledge of the cultivators who struggle each day in the world below.   God (DC 750) (Skill: ??) (Immortal) (Primordial Treasures)   There are legends of something beyond even immortals. A being so vast and powerful that they can control both the earth below and the heavens above. There is ongoing debate among the scholars whether this has any truth to it.
