Overseer Xiang is not the strongest monarch in Baishan or the most talented, but he is definitely the most popular. His family has a long history of politics and has contacts all throughout the kingdom. There are many rumors that he also maintains and extensive spy network that allows him to interfere with the other monarchs and keep them working against each other. But for obvious reasons this has never been confirmed.

No one knows much about Minister Ah besides the fact that they exist. There are rumors that Ah is a living shadow, a spirit, or even a demon, but no one knows for sure. Ah serves as the Minister of Shadows, a position that reports only to the Imperial ruler of Baishan and maintains the empire's spy networks both internal and external. Since Baishan hasn't had an emperor in centuries that means the Ministry of Shadows maintains an unaligned and neutral position in kingdom politics. At least officially.

Duchess Yasu Yūri (78)

Duchess Yasu is what peasants dream about. Her story is that of a genius cultivator who clawed her way up from the daughter of peasant farmers to the most powerful Duchess in all of Baishan. She maintains a massive army in her own right and is the High General of Baishan, which means she has nominal command of the Imperial Legion. Even with her recent wounds she is not to be trifled with.
