The Arcane Enclave
To collate the knowledge of the world
The Arcane Enclave is an organisation found within Southdale in the Dalarn Lowlands . Located within the city itself, an impressive building akin to a cathedral is located near the main castle of the City. With grayed marble and high, stained-glass windows, the building that the Arcane Enclave calls their headquarters is referred to as the Arcane Library. With many differeing wings located within, the Library is a bastion of knowledge and information for those seeking it.
The Enclave itself consists of many differing members from all walks of life, who have dedicated themselves to the aquisition of knowledge and research and development of the understandings of the world. Swearing an oath to uphold the ideals and traditions of the Enclave, each member typically serves for the rest of their life.
Access to the collection in the Arcane Library can be requested by anyone, both inside or outside of the Order, but it is ultimately the decision of the Archivists currently attending if the requested knowledge is suitable for sharing. This can be overuled by any of the leadership within the order, but typically does not happen. It is also often found that lower ranking within the Arcane Enclave will come with limitations as to what can be accessed.
With the request approved, one of the many research rooms are made suitable for those seeking knowledge to study in. Books, scrolls and anything else within the collection is strictly prohibited from leaving the building.

Beneath the Arcane Library building is a network of tunnels and chambers, with several levels heading down within the ground. This is the Arcane Vault, where rare works, artifacts and relics are stored. The rarer the item, the lower the floor it will be on. With many magical wards and the Vault Wardens on guard, the Vault represents the greatest hal of magical treasures and lore within Arden, and perhaps the rest of the world.
Grantng access to the Vault outside the Vault Wardens and Heads of the Order is rare, and it is rumoured that there are many dangerous and powerful items found in the deepest depths.

Structure
Heads of the Order
Grand Master Librarian - The Grand Master is the leader of the Arcane Enclave, and directs its members in the idealogy and ways that the Order must follow. Staying primarily in the Arcane Library, they are the only individual that may access all knowledge available.
Master of the Vault - The individual who is given sole access to the deepest levels of the Arcane Vault, and who is allowed to grant permission to access it. Even the Grand Master must first obtain permission to go to the deepest levels from the Master of the Vault. It is also this individuals responsibility to train the Vault Warden's, and ensure the Arcane Library is kept protected at all times.
Master of Scribes - In charge of the collective information stored within the Arcane Library, the Master of Scribes has power over all Archivists, Scribes and Binders. Initiate's will also be placed under the Master of Scribes ward before they are properly inducted in to the Arcane Enclave. The Master of Scribes oversees the maintainence and orgnaisation of the library section of the Arcane Library.
Master of Explorators - In charge of the recovery of relics, artifacts and knowledge, the Master of Explorators sends out exploratory teams to retrieve such items. With diplomatic ties throughout Arden and other Kingdoms and Empires, the Master of Explorators is often seen as the eyes and ears of the Arcane Enclave.
Ranks within the Order
Vault Warden - Acting as the Guards and military might of the Arcane Enclave, these highly trained warrios are charged with the protection of the Arcane Library and its members, but more specifically the Arcane Vault which houses anicent and powerful Relics and Artifacts.
Chief Explorator - Typically heading up an Exploratary team or in charge of a number of Explorators, a Chief Explorator has more influence and power within the Arcane Enclave, as well as outside of it. Tasked with travelling the world in search of knowledge and treasures, they are often more wordly and well-travelled.
Explorator - The rank of Explorator has the job of venturing to locations in the world to aquire knowledge, artifacts or anything that the Arcane Enclave deems important. Normally found working alone, they can sometimes be formed in to an Exploratary team if required.
Archivist - Reporting to the Master of Scribes, Archivists are a higher rank in charge of maintaining and managing the vast array of books, scrolls and tomes that are located within the Arcane Library. Typically, each Archivist has a number of fields they specialise in, and can be called upon by other members if their expertise is required.
Scribe - A lower rank underneath the Master of Scribes and Archivists, it is a Scribe who is tasked with replicating and maintaining written knowledge. Often found to have a specialised field of research, Sribes are both knowledgable and precise.
Binder - The lower rank under the Master of Scribes, it is the Binders who ensure knowledge is correctly categorised and up to date. They are also responsible for the general maintainence of the Arcane Library, ensuring the premises is kept in top condition and stocked with supplies.
Other Ranks
Illuminator - A specialised rank within the Arcane Enclave, Illuminators are chosen for their charisma and people skills. They are often loaned out to Noble Houses, the King's Court or even the leaders of other nations, to act as advisors and to share knowledge the Arcane Enclave has. The Enclave is often paid for these services greatly, and the Illuminator will usually serve a number of years as liason before returning back to the Arcane Library.
Initiate - Those with an interest in the Arcane Enclave and that have the appropriate skills to join the Order are given the rank of Initiate. They will usually act as an aid to one of the current members, and during this service will be judged where there skills best lay within the Order.
History
It is unclear as to when the Arcane Enclave was founded, as the Order has been around since before the coming of the Great Hero Arden. The Arcane Library itself was built in the year 37 AF, at the command of King Arden himself. It is thought the Arcane Enclave members assisted the King in uniting the Provinces under his banner.
