Spider's Legs

The Spider's Legs are a theatrical troupe that operate in Arkhos and the surrounding towns, performing short plays inspired by legends of the dark elves.

Structure

There are 8 members in the troupe: five actors, two musicians, and a narrator.   The actors do not speak, instead only acting silently the parts of various characters in the plays they perform. While this is traditional in Sadheri theatre, it is not so common among the Arkhosi, so many in Arkhos see the troupe's performances as unusual and exotic.   The narrator's job is to provide the context for the actions of the actors, explaining the characters and events in the play.   Finally, the two musicians accompany the performance with music, often Sadheri in origin but with clear influences from Druzhini culture.

History

The Spider's Legs began in the Sadheri city of Karh, after one of its members returned from an expedition to the city of Unzallin with stories of the strange culture of the druzhini. Fascinated by these exotic stories, the troupe began researching drow legends and myths, and incorporating them into their performances.   In Fourth Age 139, a member of the troupe was involved in a scandal, and they were forced to leave Arkhos. The troupe journeyed west to Kyce, and from there made their way to Arkhos. Five years later, in Fourth Age 144, they signed an agreement that they would perform primarily at the Melodical Maid, in exchange for regular pay.
