Castle Meerhaven (MEER-ha-vun)

Castle Meerhaven is a major Centurion fortification on the coast of the North sea near the mouth of the Elbe. It houses a hundred vessels and thousands of Centurion warriors. Its primary purpose is to control the southern half of the North Sea and fight Viking incursions. It is called "Castle Meerhaven" but it is not actually a castle since it doesn't serve as the home of a specific noble family. It is administered by other Centurion nobles on a rotating basis and receives the bulk of its support from Centurion coffers instead of land under its control. The fortification actually controls very little land and serves entirely as a Centurion naval base. The small peninsula and harbor that it sits on were given to the Order of the Centurion as a gift for services rendered and not as a fief with military obligations to the crown.
