Some accounts are close to the source or falsified. A few examples are:  
  • Dave once killed by dropping a tree on his victim.
  • Dave's love of tobacco follows a long a tragic backstory involving a dragon's hoard, three circus bears, and a leek.
  • Dave eats his enemies if they look delicious enough.
  • Dave once challenged a bar to a drinking contest. The bar was burned down that very night.
  • The town of Phandelver's mascot was charmed by Dave's smile alone.
  • If Dave pats you on the back, you'll grow a beard in three days time.
  • Dave once was arrested on the charge of deforesting 27 acres of wood. Dave walked when the woods were found guilty.
  • Dave once diverted a river himself because it wasn't flowing towards his tobacco fields.
  • Supposedly Dave the Lumberjack and Varen Skyfisher met once. The entire event blinded those in attendance.
  • Dave once posed as a Lumberbaron during a formal ball. To this day, he still is.
  • Rumor has it that Dave once spared an ent. He has not yet responded to questioning on this rumor.

More short stories are being written and sold due to the popularity of these adventures, dubbing them "Davies" and often being sold unbound at bookstores for 5 silver a piece.

There have been many songs dedicated to the life of Dave the Lumberjack. Depictions in art have been, albeit rarely, made in the image he fosters.
