Session 0 Report
General Summary
Before the final session:
Therion, Alea, Dahlia, Azurica, and Simon escape from the Well of Souls with the Scyth of Sariel, while Reiner stays behind to keep Micaiah at bay after stealing the scyth. During his fight with Micaiah, Reiner removed the glass artifact he'd been given by Quilletta in order to access the Arch Devils power (who were previously possessing himself, General Grace, and General Xamara until Xander Gellantra killed Generals Grace and Xamara in the Battle for New Aerethon) and be able to defeat Micaiah. The glass artifact was able to contain the three Archdevils, and prevent them from fully possessing and destroying his body, however once he defeated Micaiah, he couldn't retain control, and the devils began to consume him. Quilletta appeared, having stayed behind, and returned the glass artifact, saving Reiner from a terrible fate.
During this time Therion and Alea made some final peaces with the world they had grown up in and loved. Therion spoke one final time to Onadr, who told him that this was going to be it for him here, and that he had granted his other pupils divine protection, so that they would be sent to another world to live out the rest of their days. Therion finishes his armor, which gives him even greater protection in the fight ahead. Alea meanwhile speaks to her demilich therapist for the final time. Her Demilich gives her final advice, and a couple magic items the dark wizard who had taken an interest in developing Alea's power (Mordekainen the Mad Mage of Waterdeep) had left for her. The Demilich dissolved into a fine dust filling a bottle that formed from one of the black onyx's in her eyes, her consciousness leaving this world to float across the planes.
Leaving Micaiah dazed and unable to follow, the two escaped from the cave and jumped on Felon to return to Reiner's camp on the edge of the Sylvran forest. Once reunited with the Relic Hunters and the Party, Reiner laid out the plan for "either resetting or destroying this world". They entered into a hidden cave where a large dais sat with openings for the 12 Relics. After the relics were returned to the dais, the cave activated, and a giant red button appeared. Therion and Reiner pushed the button, which activated a temporal freeze on the World of Dentaria, which ripped a hole in the very fabric of time and space, revealing The Raven Queen's Astral Dreadnought, tasked with defeating anyone who attempts to rip through time and space in order to save or escape Dentaria. The party engaged the Astral Dreadnought, and eventually defeated it. This caused the world temporal freeze to continue.
The party was then transported to the forest tea party in the sky looking down upon the world. The party watched as Dentaria began disintegrating, and slowly the world disappeared. In that moment, each of the party members are overcome with their own thoughts and emotions as the world ends, and the tea party above the world begins dissolving as well. Right before the party finally passed, they each saw a vision of themselves, and what could've been had the Raven Queen not interfered with their lives. Alea saw herself with her father, mother, and uncle, spending time together as a family, having fun; and her and Emelina being together and happy. Therion saw his parents once again, happily enjoying themselves together on their family estate. Simon saw himself and and his fellow Rats hanging out with Rat, enjoying themselves in a dank cave, surrounded by cursed objects and laughing. And Quilletta saw her brother and parents, all acting like an actual functioning family, and Reiner, smiling and carefree. In one final moment, the party share a parting glance, remembering in the eternity of a second all they'd done together, before finally disintegrating.
And being ejected into a new universe...
