Some of the earliest intelligent, sentient creatures, dragons once ruled the world, long before the humans or even the Aluthai. They once fought an ancient war for dominance with the Giants, but that has left both races diminished, unable to assert themselves upon the world as they once had. Dragons are often reclusive and rare in some parts of the world, and take on legendary status when they do make themselves known.
