Kysten Galandel

Kysten Galandel

Kysten Galandel One who uses all his senses has a huge advantage over one that only uses his eyes. Unknown to the player Character, Kysten Galandel is the nephew of Queen Yolande of Celene. Kysten spent his youth in Enstad, the capital of the Kingdom of Celene. He grew up playing many days and nights near the outskirts of the city in the backwoods living off the land. He became a very skilled archer at a young age and enjoyed the challenges that the wilderness offered. The Elves of Celene enjoyed their festivals and other events through comradery of competition. And there is one tournament, The Silver Crescent Challenge that inspires all, but only one can be champion and hold this esteemed honor. Once every five years elves from all of Celene attend, complete, and celebrate the culture of this tournament in the capital city. The competition lasts two weeks combining one’s survival abilities using wit, agility, intellect, strength, and the aptitude to use a weapon keen to his or her skill set. Most could not even finish the two-week challenge but of those who did an esteemed acceptance of accomplishment of achievement is well met by those who compete in the event. Of those that took on this challenge only one young elf has stood out amongst them all and won every Silver Crescent Challenge over the last 20 years. As a young adult Kysten entered the Silver Crescent Challenge and felt at home with the competition. It took only 10 years (2nd Competition) for him to win it for the first time and has held the title for the last 20. His saving grace was the ability to use the bow in unique situations giving himself the advantage he needed to win the tournament. Kysten eventually moved out the capital and moved near the Southwest Forest of Welkwood just on the North side of the Jewel River, where there is a small Elven village called Arath. No more than a few hundred Elves live in this town, who are very prosperous for the region because of their hard-working ethics. Mostly skilled farmers, architects, carpenters, and hunters, they are a race who flourish in the outdoors using the land around them to benefit their community. Kysten lived many years at piece within the village of Arath until a large force of Orcs attacked the village in late one Autumn killing almost all of elves. Kysten was able to make a significant impact in the battle but it was not enough as the village was overwhelmed, and he was eventually captured and taken to the Kingdom of Pomarj where he was traded to the Slavers. Queen Yolande upon hearing of this attack sent troop to the Pomarj, but with no success. With the loss of many Elves and her Nephew, she became a Isolationist to protect the realm and the Elven communities. As a Slave, he was beaten and permanently scared mentally and physically. His hatred for the slavers goes beyond any understanding and he spent many years in their lack of care and immense torcher. With all loss of hope, a rag tag band of adventures rescued the slaves and killed the the Captures exception to one who managed to escape. Kysten along with the other adventures swore revenge when they find this Slaver someday for the brutality that he inflected must not go unpunished. Kysten joined the adventures as they cleared out the rest of the enemy in the surrounding area and eventually he went with the group to the Principality of Ulek where they were proclaimed Hero’s. Kysten never accepted the proclaim of this title but did not disrespect those that gave it to him. The Kingdom, as part of rescuing the slaves with the adventures, gave Kysten a preserve of land that is a little over a day’s travel from the capital city. The Dwarves of the area built a lodge on the reserve for Kysten in which he was very grateful but wanted to be secluded to reflect on what had transpired over the number of years. He spent six months for the most part alone with a periodic travel to the capital to see the adventures and needed supplies. During this timeframe on the preserve, he found a pack of wolves and started interacting with them quite frequently. He found out quickly they were the protectors of the preserve, keeping predators and other unwanted creatures out of the area. He also created a close bond with the leader of the pack which he calls “Docile” for how the Wolf cares for the young cubs of the pack compared to the terror the Wolf shows towards predators. Eventually Docile and Kysten became best of friends and worked together during a hunt or finding predators in the preserve. A little over six month has past and Kysten decided to start the long trek to return home taking Docile with him to let his Aunt and family know he is still alive. And so, the adventure continues.

One who uses all his senses has a huge advantage over one who only uses his eyes.
