Legacy

The Legacy is the accumulated mass of arcane and thaumic energies that have accrued over earth's fathomless lifetime. The Legacy started as a recovery system, but since then the rulers of Latter Earth have fooled with it, changing it as it has decayed over the centuries. This decay has changed the fundamental way many things work. Magic no longer functions as it once did, making ancient spell book useless, restricts the operation of most machines, even Workings are affected by the degredation of the Legacy.
