The Tell-Tale Heart

This simple looking pin cushion appears to be made from soft velvet with 1d6+6 pins protruding from it. A user who is attuned to the heart can concentrate on a target within range and that can be visually seen by the user. When the users chooses the victim, the velvet heart can be felt mimicking the heartbeat of the target; pulsing with circulation. Removing a pin causes a chosen spell effect to occur, a trickle of blood staining the velvet where the pin was removed. The pins cannot be reinserted and once all pins have been removed, the hearts bursts and dissolved in the last user's hand.
