The Briarwood Scepter

Carved from the heartwood of two trees; an ancient oak and an an ancient ironwood. This staff was designed in two parts, the lower portion is a twisted rod of dark chocolate colored ironwood which transitions to a dark honey colored oak that waved slightly to and fro. At the apex of the staff is a multi-colored gemstone entwined with the warped and gnarled shards of oak.

This two woods have been melded together thru magics to contain both powerful types of wizardry. The staff itself was created by twin spell casters each believing that they could share the staff, as well as the costs and materials it would take to create it. The staff itself contains magics from two schools of spell casting, evocation and abjuration.

If held by an evocationalist, the minor abilities will be abjuration and vice versa.
Activation
Staffs use the spell trigger activation method, so casting a spell from a staff is a standard action that doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity. (If the spell being cast, however, has a longer casting time than 1 standard action, it takes that long to cast the spell from a staff.) To activate a staff, a character must hold it forth in at least one hand.

Recharging
The staff regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn while exposed to direct sunlight for one minute. Any interruption of this method prevents the process and the user must wait till the next dawn. This staff holds 25 charges. If all charges are expelled, roll a d20. On a one, the staff turns to dust.
