Ring of Final Destination

Commonly referred to as the 'Ebony Ring', this ring is specifically bound to the Thyri, Queen of Lost Souls. Appearing as a mutlifaceted piece of perfect jet black stone, this ring provides its wearer with a wealth of knowledge and skills accumulated three millennia ago. Forged after the creation of The Deep Tomb, this ring was wrought with the very souls of the buried dead.

History

After the establishment of the The Deep Tomb, invariably the level of buried dead created a nexus of dark power unknown to any other location on Gallidion. One of these powers was Thyri, the Queen of Lost Souls and consort of the The White King. Creating the ring enabled her access to a variety of life energies now entombed within the massive sepulcher after which, she would simply consume the final remnants of their souls before moving on to her next victim.

Centuries afterward in 663 P.D., an Arcane Trickster was able to retrieve the ring, not truly knowing its origin. Discovering that he could wear the ring and overcoming his initial concern when he could not remove the ring, he soon rose to power utilizing the unique skills found within the ring which greatly enabled successful missions delving into the ruins of the world. Eventually however, he like all wearers of the ring, found that inevitably the ring would continue to hold onto his soul well past his own death.

Feast of Knowledge

Upon attunement, once per month, a random soul is finally contacted by the wearer and becomes available to use.

Once per day, the wearer of this ring may call upon one of the contained souls and utilize their proficiency for one DC check. When this occurs the wearer personality is subsumed by the one called forth.

Once a soul is located, the wearer can concentrate and have conversations with those trapped inside the ring. Some are confused, some feel this is their afterlife, others just can't remember.
