Lifestrike
This long sword was created for a long ago war against invaders from the elemental plane of ice. After years of battles, the sword gained a small amount of sentience, imbued by the vast hatred and ire its possessors had for the outsiders.
Intelligent Item
The item has an ego of 14. The user must make a Will saving throw (DC=ego) upon the first critical situation in which the sword is used. If the possessor succeeds, they are dominant for the remainder of the day. If they fail, the item gains dominance for the next 1d10 rounds with a saving throw reroll at the end of the duration.
Singular Purpose
Flaming Blade
Lifestrike's singular purpose is to strike down all creatures with the class 'outsider'. It will use all resources available to enter into a fight and oppose this class of creatures. If the sword has dominance of the possessor it will immediately attack the nearest creature with the class without hesitation.
Upon command, the blade will sheath itself in fire. The fire does not harm the wielder or their possessions. The effect remains until the command is given again. The weapon deals an additional 1d6 fire damage to all successful hits and ignites highly flammable materials.
Once per day, the wielder of the sword may plunge the blade into the ground and say the command, "Caedite eos," causing a ring of intense fire to expand away from the wielder to a radius of 30' causing 1d10 fire damage per 5 levels of the wielder. This will instantly ignite all consumables in the area and wounds all creatures in its radius. For the ability to be recharged, the blade must strike an outsider creature, otherwise the ability is not available.
