Arthur is an Acanthus mage and thus skilled in temporal magic. He has shown a few abilities namely stopping time and even the ability to see into the future. Arthur also was able to override Lenora's sanctum and still is one of the only mages who has been able to accomplish a feet like that.

Personal history
Born in the city of London Arthur was trained at a young age to be a mage with his sister. At the age of 15 he attended his fir mages council where he met Sophia. She was a young mage apprentice and the two grew close with one another. Arthur loved her and as soon as he could five years later he asked for her hand and she accepted it.
the newlyweds were a power couple in London mage circles with the two receiving countless offers all over the country. The two though were extremely poor and when an offer came in from the Guardian's of the Veil Arthur accepted. He wanted to be able to provide for Sophia. When Sophia found out she to took an offer from the Silver Ladder. The two served their organizations together where they together created the Grim Manifesto, a book that when brought to a city recorded all super natural beings of the past, present, and future.
As a guardian he proved he was quite capable and even served the crown for a bit. He was however sent overseas to deal with the colonies and the mess therein. This put a pressure on his and Sophia's relationship and soon the two fell apart. Arthur was devistated when that happened. He signed the papers and went through with it for her but, he was never happy about it. A painting of her hangs in this sanctum to this day.
time moved forward and Arthur earned a reputation in Boston as quite the gentleman and earned his place among the mages there. He was happy with this and it is how he met Lenora who became another fast friend.
When Lenora invaded Croswell house Arthur was able to negotiate for her release but, his time was later cut short when he was murdered by the Boston butcher. Though it is unknown how but, according to the angels he is still alive
It was later reviled that Sophia supplied him with a body double to trick "fate" that he died. He had been manipulating certain events from the side the entire time. He had taken his real body and seperated it leaving it in six books that the group reclaimed and used to bring him back to life.
during teh 4th of july events Arthur used his powers to stall fate giving everyone the ability to make thier own choices and change the world. In doing so he was able to save Boston but at a price. Arthur was cursed with Immortality so him nor his descendents could die due to old age.
After Boston he and Sophia would be remarried and they would have two kids a set of twins named Daphnie and Milicent. after his marriage he and his family relocated to teach. He has since become the dean of admission seeking out various children to join the academy.

Sophia and Arthur dated when they met at a meeting of mages in London. They were fast friends and were quickly engaged and married. Things turned sour when Arthur took a job with the Guardian's of the veil and Sophia took up with the Silver Ladder. The two began to disagree politically and separated fro a time and soon divorced.
