The Empyrean Legion

An elite brigade of battle-hardened warriors trained to fly on the backs of armored war-gryphons. Nick-named "skywardens" and "legionnaires," the deadliest combatants of Jhorna are in a class of their own.

Since Soma and Darkclaw's death, Sheperd's leave, and Ares's "retirement," a total of 4 pairs make up the fierce Skywardens. The commander of the group, Zee - along with his war gryphon, Mooncalf - leads the charge of warriors. The remaining 4 follow suit, adhering to orders from their quick-witted leader: Zohar and Calleis, Theas and Ananake, Crowley and Aether, and the newest member, Illeiya, who has yet to undergo the Rite of Choosing.

Elgus's Champions

As the sworn protectors of Elgus, the skywardens take pride in keeping the Praetoria at bay. Be it sword or shield, talon or wing, the Empyrean Legion will use everything at their disposal to keep Elgus safe. Even after the Praetoria sieged Elgus, the Legion's job of keeping the peace in Elgus is of utmost importance.

Casualties of War

On the eve of return to the capital city, the Departed encountered a fatally wounded Soma and Darkclaw by Mirror Lake. They learned of the Praetorian incursion from the injured legionnaire. His and Soma's wounds were too great, arcane and natural healing incapable of saving them both. The two passed shortly after and were seen to a proper burial a few miles outside the city walls.

Commander Riven of the Empyrean Legion

Following the Praetorian incursion of Elgus inadvertently incited by Sheperd/Valstrayana, Zee was coronated as the 9th Empyrean Legion commander. He now presides over the remaining 4 members: Zohar, Theas, Crowley, and the newest member - ex-Praetorian Knight Commander, Illeiya.
