Somnus, the Silent City

A persistent myth of an ethereal city said to be beneath Azovar. In most witness accounts, the city is said to be found in an impossibly large cavern, solemnly sitting within a sea of darkness. Dedicated myth seekers spend their entire lives searching for the city in the abyss.

Shrouded in Mystery

For hundreds of years, it is always the same story: an outcropping, a precipice, the dark abyss, and the Silent City. To this day, it remains to be nothing but a myth. Looming questions of the cities inhabitants and true purpose still perplex artifact hunters to this day. That is if the city exists at all, a terrifying concept that drives many life-long seekers to crazed fanaticism.

To Stare into the Abyss...

The Departed first glimpsed Somnus within a cave beneath Elgus, before a fierce encounter with a flamelurker. Moments of serenity are fleeting for those that perceive it, pulling the unwieldy to gaze upon its foreboding structure, almost as if it's beckoning them to find it. Most of the Departed have now had a vision of the Silent City and a ringing bell atop the tallest tower, its soundless reverberations tainting the air with every toll.

Hear No Evil
