Great Library of Azuth

"The Library is a building of unknown age built into the side of a mountain on the northern most range of the Iron Highlands. There is much speculation even by the top sages which call it home on who built it but the magical nature and extrademintionality of the interior point to either ancient elves or something else. There is one legend told by many and parroted across the land that the library was constructed by a wizard of great power named Azuth the Creator. They were a wizard of unknown race who left a magical sigil imprinted on the front door which now is the symbol for the Guild of the Silver Sages - [NG].
Inside the library is a vast hall containing copies of most of the books and knowledge in the known world. Also in the library are many original tomes written by the sages who maintain the library and passed down the centuries. If the interior didn't seem big enough already there is a certain large door which leads to an area of the library known to the sages as the Halls of Infinium which appear to go on forever or at least as far as the sages have cared to map. Created inside the Halls of Infinium by the late Arch Sage Correndus is The Vault where the most powerful artifacts of the known world are kept safe from those who would seek to do them harm."

Purpose / Function

Great store of knowledge taken from the civilized world and the seat of the Guild of the Silver Sages - [NG]. No one knows for certain when the Great Library was built but many agree that it was an ancient caster of great power or even a deity.
The Great Library is sometimes referred to as the Infinite Library because of the clever extra-dimensional nature of the interior. It is inside the Halls of Infinium that The Vault lies. There great artifacts and terrible knowledge/secrets are stored away out of the hands of those who might use them for evil or selfish intent.

History

During an era long past the Library and it's magical workings were created by a wizard of immense power. Their name is lost to time but the sages of this day and age refer to them as "The Librarian".
