The Order of the Hallowed Codex, popularly referred to as "the Speakers", are a religious military order associated with the Communion of the Judge. The Order is currently led by High Speaker Rayna Avaline. It's primary task is to protect the Temple of the Hallowed Codex, however, it has taken on many roles and duties since its first inception. The Order is primarily composed of Called-Knights, Vowedmen, and Scribes. Although, at times non-vowed members may be blessed to bear the scales. 
The Order was originally founded during the Second Addrassian War, where the Orcs nearly burned the Temple of the Hallowed Codex to the ground. The Divine Councilor at the time, Aelfric the Pious, led a miraculous defense of the temple. Following his passing, he was revealed by the Judge to be a Holy One. Those who felt called pledged themselves to St. Aelfric, who in turn blessed them with Divine power. He is seen as the patron of the Order, and it is by his blessing that the paladins of the Hallowed Codex wield their radiant fury.
