The World Guardians

This Pokemon Mystery Dungeon story world focuses on six Pokemon and their adventures as they learn to understand the world of Neas, the nature of its catastrophic history, and their influence on its future.   Years ago, the world was ruled by six precursor nations who rose to fantastic technological heights thanks to the power of an artifact known as the Remnant. As jealousy for the Remnant grew, war broke out between the nations which brought the whole planet to ruin. This ending to the precursors came to be known as the Cataclysm.   Life somehow survived and Pokemon society makes ends meet, but their lives continue to be touched by the past. Relics from the precursor age litter the world, small pockets of their civilization still exist in stagnation and, most of all, powerful beasts said to have been summoned by the precursors still roam the land, emerging from the parallel reverse world known as The Void.   The influence of the precursors endures in the various nation-states dominating the world, most prominently that of the Arcane Empire and its infamous emperor. The threat of conflict continuously looms, leading many to wonder if the ancient weapons of the Precursors could one day be brought to bear against people once more.   These beasts and the artifacts left behind constantly affect the world, and all of this while the mysterious Remnant remains a mystery.
