The Green Havens, also called The Viridian Isles

To the East of Solander, in the waters of the Dryman Sea, lie The Havens- an archipelago of islands, myriad in shape and size, and strewn across the waters like sparkiling gems on blue-green satin. In older writings, one will find the islands and the sea around called variously Viridian, the Isles of Viridian, the Viridian Isles and occasionally The Viridaes
Yet beauty viewed from afar off can hide much that is foul and monstrous. For it is here in this agglomeration of sun-drenched isles that you will find the rich, rogue republics of Mercy, Drna and Kalandria.
The treasuries of these renegade States are succoured by vice- piracy, gambling, whoring, slavery and the pernicious papavert weed. With these ill-gotten gains, their leaders raise vast armies and build great navies for war, driven by the unknown desires of the tyrants that rule them. Their loyalties are variable, and easily bought- if the buyer can pay the toll.
The inhabitants of these Lands should be much pitied. The serfs and slaves toil almost without ceasing and in great sufferation, for a pittance of food or coin that barely keeps them alive, while the rich and powerful few suck up all the riches to finance their lush, lavish and lasvicious lives. But beware, that even wealth will not protect against the vagaries of the tyrants who rule these lands, for elevation in society is at their discretion and by thier leave only, and at a whim, in the mere blink of an eye, they will strip even the greatest of their citizenry of all property and condemn them to a life worse than death.
