Difficulty class
Determining the Dificulty Class for skill checks and saving throws is done via the following criteria. First the overall difficulty of the check is required to set a base. Then a slew of modifiers is applied to determine the acutal DC of that perticular roll.

The number of the DC can be checked against the average skill modifier that a character is expected to have. If the number does not make any sense to deliver a good probability of succes, rethink if the check might need to be further modified.

Luck Checks
Luck checks are made when a sitiuation is completely detatched from the skill of a character. For example, when looking for a specific object and just opening any chest or cabinet in the room to find it without following a specific clue. These sitiuations call upon the luck of the character. A luck roll is a straight d20 roll. Some feature, or magic items provide a bonus to luck checks, but without these a character has a +0 modifier. The DC of luck checks are determined by the following table:
|

Reliable to happen naturally |
8 |
Medium |

12 |
Hard |

15 |

Can only happen against all odds |
20 |
Nearly Impossible |
Cannot occur naturally. |
