Ghoul
Ghouls are created as failed attempts by witches and necromancers in casting killing curses and resurrection spells, that result in the subject being trapped in a 'half-life'. Because you cannot kill or bring back to life with magic, any attempt at it traps the subject between life and death.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Ghouls can breed with each other, but it is rare for ghoul offspring to be brought to term, and offspring are always closer to death than life. The longest known successful ghoul bloodline was three generations, which was considered extraordinary.
Ghouls can also be created by a living human being bitten by a ghoul. This is quite rare, however, as ghouls do not generally attack the living.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Ghouls are scavengers, and need to feed on dead bodies to survive - they cannot eat or drink anything else. Most ghouls feed on animal carcasses, although some few do feed on dead human corpses when they can.
