Gaur'Keh Mah

Gaur'Keh Mah, or Storm of the Earth Day, was a bloody rebellion that took place in the orcish city of Anth'Tkur, when disgruntled orcish commoners rose up against their Lahi'Gaur leaders, emboldened by their new acquisitions of firearms. Unfortunately, the disastrous coup only resulted in an immense amount of spilt blood, and the seeds of renewed animosity between the two cities, so soon after they made peace.

The Conflict

Prelude

The seeds of Gaur'Keh Mah were sown after the most recent Anth'Tkur-Hollowhome war. As a part of peace offerings, the dwarves of Hollowhome gifted unto Anth’Tkur the creation that gave them such an advantage over the orcs, whose only real defense against this invention was the Lahi’Gaur’s powerful magic. This invention was the firearm.
Trade between Hollowhome and Anth’Tkur was opened, and firearms soon found themselves not only in the hands of the Lahi’Gaur, but in those of the common folk as well. This new power gave a few orcs an idea, an idea which soon spread into a conspiracy, which eventually turned into full-fledged revolution. With these weapons that spat thunder at the pull of the trigger, the Lahi’Gaur were now no more powerful than the people.

Deployment

No one knows quite how the fighting broke out. The revolutionaries had no real leader, nothing in common except for a shared idea, and so they really just ended up gathering haphazardly in the lower parts of Anth’Tkur. At some point someone decided they ought to fire their rifle. Whether it was at someone else, into the air, or just totally accidental is unknown, but after the first shot the next ones came easily.

Battlefield

Disorganized and consumed by rage, the revolution never actually made it very near the homes of the Lahi’Gaur. A few slightly organized attempts were made, but they lacked cohesion and a plan, and so were easily driven off. A few Lahi’Gaur were killed, but they were largely safe. Frustrated and unable to pierce the defenses of the Lahi’Gaur, the revolutionaries turned on themselves. There was looting, fighting, and the constant thunder of guns being fired. It is this horrible sound that gave the event its name, and this sound that still rings in the ears of many of the city’s poor.

Outcome

Gaur'Keh Mah ended up resulting in devastation in the lower class areas of Anth'Tkur, where the disorganized and angry revolutionaries wrought destruction. Even though the goal was to attack and overthrow the Lahi'Gaur, the vast majority of the casualties were caused by commoners against other commoners. Most Tkuran commoners were affected in some way, losing a family member or friend, or perhaps just having lasting trauma from the booming sounds of gunfire.

Aftermath

The long term result of Gaur'Keh Mah was a great deal of anti-dwarf sentiment in Anth'Tkur, especially among the lower class, who were most affected. Firearms were a dwarvish creation, gifted to Anth'Tkur by the dwarves of Hollowhome, and as the introduction of firearms caused Gaur'Keh Mah, therefore the dwarves caused Gaur'Keh Mah. While the lower class typically do not have a lot of power, one commonborn Lahi'Gaur, Kamar O'nu, has recently gained a lot of power and influence, being elected onto the Lahi'Gaur council. Kamar was traumatized by the event in his youth, and he has campaigned openly against Hollowhome and its residents, calling for revenge.
