The Iron Church

The Iron Church is a pre-shattering structure, built next to the delve in Dim, by young god Hyde. The Iron Church is the central guildhall of the bloodletters, and they do real honest to goodness miracles. This makes them quite popular. They instill faith-present iron with blood. Once soaked in blood for a long enough time, the iron will begin to heat - the blood will begin to boil. Then the iron must be taken from the pool of blood and plunged into water to be quenched. This has three results. The water that boils off as it cools, takes some of the faith with it. It exits the top of the iron church’s cooling towers as the mist which plagues Dim. The water that does not evaporate, however, becomes chem and can be used just as any chem might that was harvested from a god. The only difference is an implied lack of potency - chem addicts remark that the artificial chem produced by the Iron Church is not as potent and doesn’t give as nice a high. Finally, the iron itself is rendered blue and shimmering, becoming a new material called honosite.

Purpose / Function

Acts as a University, training new bloodletters and offering advanced education to promising bloodletters. Operates as the command building for the guild, organizing guild activities across all spires. Produces the material honosite, and manufactures artificial godsblood. Overseas the mining operations at the major delve in Dim.

Architecture

The Iron Church is massive and has a significant portion of its halls beneath ground. It is a gothic-style cathedral with a steeple that is square-based and topped with a point, like a pyramid.
