We scatter like cinders to the four winds.

Bright we burn in the season of plenty.
Soimitu soong shh’ii cou mavit lo’olo
Cold we grow in the season of want.
Pei soong koro cou mavit vetuu.
Day to night we journey.
Soiden zauit ohmden soong bemna.
Bright we burn. Cold we grow.

Like the rising sun, we are born.
Vut kahsoi soong vameyeh.
Sparks catch and hold
Shh’em hkhtar qh tisu
Flame rises. Sun shines.
Shh’kaheyeh. Soi soimitan.
Brilliant color is revealed in the light.
Plomidan zhuyem cou soimiteh.
Celebrate the gift of life! Be joyful!
Fonem sehwa! Gloa ourani!
We live. We live in great purpose.

Through the universe we journey.

In warmth we blossom and flourish.

We journey in beauty and light.

Dreams are made real as we plan and work.
Taum ahksen parum beeya soong vek qh palu.
We conquer the mountain and stand on its summit,

Surveying all.

We advance to the next challenge.

Through challenge and work we grow.

In time, the flame consumes its source.
Cou semartuuha’a shh’ka atu zekaar.
The harvest is gone. A new fire is born.
Kaskasi zuna tii shh’ka vameyeh.
The old flame cools. Brilliant color and brightness fade.
Tiikaa shh’kahe peiah. Plomidan qh soimity lakooeen.
Hunger devours life.
Menatu at gloa.
Light becomes darkness at sunset.
Soimiteh ahksen ohm soivanum.
Cold we grow in the season of want.
Pei soong koro cou mavit vetuu.
At our appointed time, life ends.

The flickering flame grows cold.

Thank you! And yes, it's sung every evening at sunset among the Jinn. I'll have to update their article to reflect this. Thanks for the suggestion. In the novel I'm working on, this is a key device in the plot. You can see a bit more about it in the Prose article entitled, "Prologue."
