House Crakehall
Vassals to House Wayn
House Words: "We remain."
Sigil: A red eye on a gyronny field of black and grey per fess.
Leader: Lord Allen Crakehall
Background: Little is known about Castle Bandallon and even less about the house that rules it. The people of Bandallon proper describe the Crakehalls as "kind but elusive," and "strange and benevolent." It is true that it is rare to see any of the Crakehalls outside of their fortress, but their people want for little. Fishing is plenty, crops grow well despite the winds coming off of the gulf, and trade passes through. Thought it seems the villagers are left to their own devices, when pressed they credit House Crakehall with their good fortune even though no one can ever really describe why.
Crakehall soldiers are some of the few residents to enter and leave the keep on a regular basis, their pale armor a contrast to the black stone walls they guard. Bandallon has never been taken in a battle due in equal parts to it's physical location, strong defenses, and formidable fighters. Whatever training they receive, whenever Crakehall fighters take to the field they fight as if they were of one mind, clear of thought and convicted in their goal.
House Crakehall is the only noble house in the Westerlands to refuse a courtly mage from the College of Mages.
