The Waters of Attlefell
There be terrors between the Devils and the Deep Blue Sea.
This phrase is spoken widely throughout the lands of the the Hollow Isles across many of its rich cultures. Once spoken to represent the dangers that lie at sea, the phrase now warns of a more modern horror. The Empire of Fede'tel has been collecting power of the trade routes of sea, threatening the thousand years of freedom and danger that the Hollow Isles have always known. The once reclusive empire of Fede'tel has breached over the Peaks of Attlefell with their newly crafted Airships. With them, they brought a power unlike the sailers of the Hollow Isles has ever known. Fire and metal now begin rule over the pirates and fishermen.
The continent of Attlefell includes all of it's oceans, seas and it's many hundreds, if not thousands of islands, some have yet to be explored. For as long as anyone can remember, the people of these islands (called the Hollow Isles), have lived freely. They are fisherman, lawmen, divers, governors, soldiers, hunters, tribesmen, but most of all sailors and explorers. Many forms of government can be found amongst the islands. There are lords, governors and shaman-kings all looking over and ruling different portions of the Hollow Isles.
The seas can be a right dangerous place. While some of the trade routes are well established, other parts are less traveled due to their more dangerous nature. Sea monsters roam the vast blue wilds. Some of the islands are home to tribal half-beast folk that aren't very keen to outsiders. There are even legends found in Attlefellian mythology that say that there are old gods, imprisoned, and leashed beneath the waves out in the black waters.
