Seshat Coalition

The Seshat Coalition is legendary across the Aurithius Galaxy as the one planetary system that stood against the Itherian Empire with unmatched resolve. While most systems succumbed quickly to the Itherians' overwhelming might, the Seshat Coalition’s fierce resistance forced the Empire into a decade-long war.

This protracted conflict bled Itherian resources and forced the development of the infamous Focus Conduits, which became the cornerstone of the Empire’s rapid conquest strategies. Even after Seshat’s eventual defeat, the Coalition’s defiance never truly ended. Its people became the heart of the resistance movement, inspiring hope and rebellion across the galaxy.

The Resistance Movement

Resistance to Itherian rule has always existed, though often fragmented and small in scale. On countless planets, oppressed populations formed local cells, rising up whenever the Empire’s cruelty or oppression became too great to bear. These cells were often isolated, lacking the coordination and resources needed to make a lasting impact.

In the last five years, however, the efforts of Elendril and the crew of the Solar Destiny have begun to unite these disparate groups. Using his ship’s ability to evade Itherian patrols, Elendril has:

  • Fostered Communication: Established covert links between resistance cells, enabling them to share intelligence, tactics, and morale-boosting successes.
  • Supplied Resources: Ferried weapons, food, and medical supplies between resistance groups, ensuring they have the tools to continue their fight.
  • Encouraged Unity: Convinced resistance leaders to look beyond their individual struggles and see themselves as part of a larger movement capable of challenging the Empire.

These efforts have transformed the resistance from scattered uprisings into a burgeoning galaxy-wide movement, with the Seshat Coalition at its core.

Post-Empire Organization

With the fall of the Itherian Empire, the scattered resistance cells have begun to formally organize under the Seshat flag. The Coalition, bolstered by its experience and moral authority, is stepping into the role of a unifying force for the galaxy’s oppressed worlds.

Key to their deterrence of any Itherian resurgence is their newfound ability to disrupt the Empire’s Focus Conduits. By interfering with the Conduits, the Coalition can now redirect Itherian transport armies to unknown locations, rendering their primary tool of conquest unreliable and dangerous to use. This breakthrough has given the Seshat-led resistance a powerful edge, ensuring they remain a formidable force in the post-Empire galaxy.

Legacy of Resistance

The Seshat Coalition and the resistance movement represent the resilience and determination of the galaxy’s people. For centuries, they have refused to bow completely to Itherian tyranny, keeping alive the hope of freedom and self-determination.

As the galaxy begins to rebuild, the Seshat Coalition’s leadership ensures that the sacrifices of those who resisted the Empire are not forgotten. Their organized efforts are a beacon of strength, ready to prevent any future threat of oppression and to help usher in a new era of galactic cooperation and peace.

1. Asherah

Art:
The people of Asherah are renowned for their woven metal sculptures, intricate pieces that are both functional and decorative. These sculptures often depict natural landscapes or legendary warriors and are infused with small crystals that refract light, creating dazzling displays of color. Music on Asherah is deeply tied to storytelling, with wind instruments made from the planet’s native glass-like minerals producing hauntingly beautiful tones.

Food:
Asherah cuisine is plant-forward, with a heavy emphasis on dishes made from the Vysura plant, a fibrous crop that can be cooked into hearty stews or dried into crisps. Seafood is also abundant, thanks to the vast freshwater seas that cover much of the planet, and meals often include delicacies like salt-cured Wrenfish.

Culture:
The Asherahi value resilience and creativity. Festivals are common and often focus on firelit rituals, symbolizing endurance and transformation. The Festival of Stars, held annually, honors their fallen warriors by lighting floating lanterns, which drift into the sky, powered by small heat crystals.

Planetary Ecology:
Asherah is a lush world of sprawling freshwater seas, temperate forests, and rolling plains. The skies often shimmer with auroras due to the magnetic interplay between the planet’s twin moons. The Jivata Tree, native to Asherah, exudes a glowing sap that locals believe has healing properties.

2. Ganno

Art:
Ganno is a planet of precision and elegance, with its art emphasizing geometric patterns and technological marvels. Sculptures are often kinetic, powered by solar energy, and serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. Poetry is revered, especially works that explore the duality of science and emotion.

Food:
Gannoans favor nutrient-dense meals, with a particular love for Rynal fruit, which is both sweet and tart and contains natural energizing compounds. Another staple is Techbread, which is made from high-protein grains and often baked into intricate, 3D-printed designs.

Culture:
Gannoans pride themselves on their intellect and efficiency. While they value innovation, their culture also emphasizes emotional discipline. Celebrations are rare but deeply meaningful, such as the Cycle of Ingenuity, where citizens showcase groundbreaking inventions.

Planetary Ecology:
Ganno is an arid planet with towering rock spires and expansive deserts, dotted with energy-efficient cities built into canyon walls to conserve resources. The planet's flora includes the Solarleaf plant, which has reflective surfaces to absorb sunlight, while its fauna includes the Glintfox, a nocturnal predator with bio-luminescent fur.

3. Sahul

Art:
Sahul is the artistic heart of the coalition, known for its vividly colored murals and sky art, created by releasing pigment-filled drones that paint images across the sky at dusk. Dance is also a vital art form, often performed barefoot on sand that has been heated and cooled to create shifting colors beneath the performers.

Food:
Food on Sahul is vibrant and spicy, with the Kadra pepper forming the base of many dishes. A popular meal is Sahran Skewers, a mix of roasted meats and vegetables, served with a tangy citrus sauce. Desserts often include the Lumifruit tart, which glows faintly in the dark.

Culture:
Sahuli culture revolves around expressing emotion through art and storytelling. Their festivals are extravagant, with parades, music, and intricate sand sculptures. They also have a deep spiritual connection to their twin suns, and prayers or chants are often incorporated into daily life.

Planetary Ecology:
Sahul is a desert world with vast sand dunes and rare oases. The most famous feature is the Twin Sun Fields, where unique heat-adapted plants like the Sundew Blossom grow, their petals absorbing solar energy. The Velstra Hawk, a majestic bird of prey, is often considered a sacred animal.

4. Shehar

Art:
Shehar’s art is raw and powerful, reflecting the planet’s harsh environment. Obsidian carvings are a signature style, often depicting the struggles and triumphs of Shehari history. Storytelling through dramatic theater is also a cherished tradition, with performers wearing intricate masks crafted from volcanic stone.

Food:
The Shehari diet is built around hardy root vegetables and lava-roasted meats, cooked using geothermal heat. The Ashberry Pie, made from a sweet fruit that grows in volcanic soils, is a popular treat. Their fermented Fireleaf Tea is both a warming beverage and a ceremonial drink.

Culture:
Shehari culture values strength and endurance, both physical and emotional. The Rite of Ash, a coming-of-age ceremony where young Shehari must navigate a treacherous volcanic landscape, is a cornerstone of their identity. Honor and loyalty are paramount, shaping their tight-knit communities.

Planetary Ecology:
Shehar is a volcanic world, with active lava flows and rugged mountain ranges. The planet’s volcanic soil supports unique vegetation, like the Fireleaf Bush, whose red-tipped leaves are used in Shehari dyes and medicines. The Lava Lynx, a heat-resistant feline predator, is a symbol of Shehari resilience.
