Nemani Primer

The Nemanoi

Nemani is a small planet near the edge of our galaxy in the prime universe. It is the home of the Nemanoi. A technologically advanced species with a commerce centered capitalist society. They are a member world of the Alliance of Planets and one of many major trading planets in the galaxy. The thing that makes their world unique is the strange way that things disappear if they are left sitting for very long and sometimes they show up again in the same place or sometimes they show up in a completely different place. The Nemanoi attribute this to the action of the gods, specifically "The Watcher" who they believe watches everything they do through the large spatial anomaly visible in their sky.

The Nemanoi are ruled by a CEO and Board of Directors and society is run very much like a business.

What the Nemanoi do not know is that they share their planet with another race the Jimenna.

The Jimenna

The Jimenna are a hunter/ gatherer society and live for fun. They are playful and enjoy joking together. They would have a grand laugh if they realized what is happening in their world. Things that were not there suddenly appear in their world. then if left alone very long they will disappear again and sometimes they appear back in the same place and sometimes they appear in a different place. The same things seem to appear often but occasionally something will show up that they have no idea what to do with. This causes great concern. They attribute it all to the gods. They believe in several and they all come and go through the spatial anomaly visible in the sky.

The two societies share the same spaces and use the same landmarks, but do not know about each other except for the apparently magical things that happen sometimes and are attributed to the gods.

The Jimenna are led by a Shaman and the main goal of their existence is to have fun, and spread joy to each other.

Factions and Countries

The Alliance of Planets is an organization with several member worlds dedicated to exploration and trade. They also provide military protection for their member worlds if needed. Every young adult raised on a member world attends the Academy and serves a 7 year term on a starship. After that most are offered a Starship position that they can take and make a career of the exploration of space or they can go back to their home planet and live a civilian life.

The Itherian Empire rules the Myrios Universe, a pocket universe on the other side of the Watchers Eye gate, They have been in power for over 2 thousand years and they are coming to the end of their rule. Emperor Krat collapsed the empire recently and is rebuilding the homeworlds in their system. Itheria Prime, Ital, Trander, and Kazi.

This allowed the Byni to make contact again with the Nemanoi.

The Byni are a race in the pocket universe that suffered greatly under Itherian rule. Before Itheria came to power they were incredibly technologically advanced and they are the ones who created the Watchers Eye Gate and planned to use it to open trade with the prime universe and specifically Nemani. They are the gods that are pictured in the myths on Nemani. They protected the prime universe from Itheria by not disclosing how to travel through the gate but now most of them do not believe it can be travelled through. They only have myths and stories about traveling through it.

Magic and Technology

The closest thing to magic is the physics rule of Time Slots. It is the explanation of how there are two societies on Nemani and why things appear and disappear on that world.

Technology

The Alliance ships have a hologram tech on their ships and in a personal body tech in their left arms. This tech allows them to view holographically any location and if they walk into that hologram they can be transported to that location.

Alliance Ships also have Centripetal drive systems that make use of Kinetic energy. For this reason they all have a ring around them so the energy particle can make the rounds and build up energy.

Alliance Scientists have an Air Filter tech that they use to clean the air on planets that they are helping recover from Itherian rule. This is an air filter that later becomes a planter that continues to keep the air clean for years to come.

Genre - Sci Fi, Space Opera

Mood - The mood on Nemani is busy and cheerful. The Nemanoi are a bustling and thriving society.

The mood among the Jimenna is full of fun and silliness. The practical jokes are continuous with them.

Tone - Optimistic but still has problems, which we will meet in the pocket universe, Myrios.

Comparisons - The world will be intricate and full of depth and allegory like Star Wars. The day to day life of those who live in the Prime universe is more like Star Trek and those who live in the Myrios Universe is like Star Wars after the Empire fell.
