The Hounds of Bedlam
The Hounds of Bedlam were a ruthless and notorious mercenary group that terrorized the western forests of Eren, operating with a mix of cunning strategy and unrelenting brutality. Bedlam was at their helm, a former Drekayan army soldier turned rogue, whose sharp mind and savage leadership forged the Hounds into a force both feared and reviled.
The group’s composition reflected Bedlam’s past and his talent for manipulation. At its core were a handful of his loyal comrades from his military days—seasoned warriors who shared his disillusionment with authority and his hunger for power. Surrounding this hardened nucleus were younger recruits: idealistic and impressionable young adults drawn in by Bedlam’s charisma and promises of adventure, wealth, and freedom. Many of these recruits soon found themselves embroiled in the Hounds' vicious deeds, their dreams of glory shattered by the grim reality of their leader's true nature. These misgivings disappeared in short order as Bedlam administered them servings of "nectar," a gold-colored syrup that was added into the ale served in their base or taken with just a straight dose swigged down. This miracle liquid healed all manner of wounds and ailments and was the main source of both payment for the younger troops and what allowed the relatively small group to fight as hard and often as they did, their wounds healing over the course of a day or so, and their fighting capabilities and stamina far beyond most normal people.
