The Clay Guardian

The Clay Gate is a closely guarded secret. Whilst iconography of it adornes many art pieces, emblems, and decorations throughout Yorn and beyond, it's existence is all but fabled. Most of this is thanks to the powerful spirit named Al’Khyneth, known and revered as a patron protector and teacher by the ancient tribesof Yorn's groves. She imparted the duty of protecting the gate to two forces. Overseeing the Tree of Life's protection is an ancient tribe known as the The An'sei Path. Their solemn and ancestral duty is to guard and oversee the Tree of Life itself, as well as dissuade others from discovering it's true location. Acting as the shield and ultimate protector for the tree is the entity known as the Clay Guardian. It goes by many names, but it is fabled to be some sort of sculpted golem made of magically enchanted clay. Said creation is believed to be the magnum opus of Al'Khyneth,

It is both shield and hammer. Peaceful Giant and Fearsome Defender, slumbering for decades at a time. Somehow, it always wakes right whenever it senses a need for it's intervention, even predicting potential catastrophes.
