The Clay Gate

Somewhere in the heart of a sacred grove, dwells a clearing that seems out of place amidst its waterlogged and rotting swamp surrounding. Legends from the local tribes tell that from within this grove that every single plant life organism is said to have been birthed from this single grove. Some even tout it was from a single tree itself, the fabled Tree of Life for which the grove is meant to house and hide. If one were to take the time to trace the roots spread throughout the swamp, one could find that its origin point does indeed trace back to this specific grove. Its roots are submerged far beneath the water’s surface that it is said to have bound the entire region together. The water surrounding this tree is crystal clean unlike the mires of the rest of Yorn, said to have been purified and magically blessed from the tree. The fabled Progenitor Tree. Many bits of folklore tell of its leaves holding incredible powers of vitality, able to heal wounds and ailments impossible for modern medicine and magic. The Tree of Life itself is believed to be the Yorn’s Gate of Clay., an entrance beset somewhere within this towering behemoth of a sentinel.

The Clay Gate's prolific tree frame is believed to have roots several miles long. Researchers postulate this tree might be the largest single living organism in the world.
