Elves of the Dark Moon

The True Moon Maiden's Disciples

The Dark Moon is a rapidly growing religion, primarily attracting young followers under thirty. Its rise is largely due to Selemene, the worshipped goddess, who appears to her followers and grants them magical abilities. This divine connection has drawn hundreds to the faith, making it the fastest-growing religion in central Suna.

At its core is the Dark Moon Order, an elite group of clerics and paladins known for their power and devotion. Based in the Nightsilver Woods on Nightsilver Isle, members must pass a rigorous trial to join.

Beliefs

The Dark Moon followers view the Lunari as a constant threat, leading to tension and occasional violence. While openly hostile to the Old Faith, they are generally dismissive of all other religions.

A key ambition of the Dark Moon is to claim the Moonlight Temple in Marilune, believing that Selemene, as “the true Moon Goddess,” should replace the absent Mene. Although they haven’t succeeded, they hold biannual pilgrimages to the Temple, which have become less controversial in recent years as Lunari influence wanes.

Selemene’s Nature

Selemene demands unwavering praise and loyalty, operating with the fervor of a cult leader. Followers face severe punishment, including torture or assassination by Dark Moon Order agents, for betrayal or disobedience. Her obsessive need for worship defines the strict and indoctrinating nature of the Dark Moon faith.
