Blythes
Blythes are an anomalous phenomena, the likes of which manifests within children born regardless of race. Blythes look indistinguishable from any other member of their parent species. But that is not guaranteed to stay that way forever. Depending on the time their powers truly start to manifest, the magnitude of the power, and other feats and traumas that evoke blythe manifestation, strange features might show themselves. Limbs might turn black, or glowing runes may appear over the skin. Eyes might glow when using spells, or a strange glow may emanate from under the skin where their heart dwells. The range of features can truly vary greatly.
History
Upon birth, a Blythe shows no signs of being different from any normal newborn child. If they develop magical abilities, usually around the age of 10, they will always possess a dark or light affinity. Depending on which affinity they possess, they can be one of two 2 types of Blythes. The Night Blythe or the Day Blythe. The Night is associated with perceived nefarious energies, and the Day is associated with a person's sense of righteousnessGeography
Blythes do not have a particular limit to where they can be found. In a still unknown anomaly, historians have documented a strangely prominent number of Night Blythes born in the civilizations in the center of where Astana, Linden, and Eiri meet and mesh culture and people.Relations & Society
Not many know of blythes, but those who do are usually secretive about their existence. Those aware are usually people in high positions in orders or governments, but in many cases, it's other Blythes who feel an innate draw and a sort of... recognition. The fact blythehood is as absent from the world's lore is partially because discretion has proved an invaluable asset for such a misunderstood demographic. There isn't culture that comes with blythehood because the culture they usually possess is from their parents. Almost always, due to a lack of study into the phenomena, a Blythe won't know they’re a Blythe, and historically, some have assumed the offspring has been touched by spirits or altered by a nefarious magical anomaly.Related Articles

Passive Ideas
Light Soul/Dark Soul - Blythes have to deal with their respective affinity all the way down to their cores. This has been known to sometimes lead to quite strange effects on their magic. If you have more than one affinity, your blythe affinity might overpower this other half of yourself, causing magic of one element to conjure up dark flames, glowing glass shards of light, a burning acid instead of fresh water, or a harmless mist that soothes and heals the wounds of others basked in it. This effectively means some blythes can utilize the properties and general look and "feel" of another element they retain but have it deal light or dark damage, which might affect targets or the environment differently.Living Weapon - Pain is a driving force in life, sometimes moreso for blythes pushed to their limits. In their dire hours, they sometimes find even their body fighting to stay alive. If a blythe is on the brink of death and is in their right mind, they may find their speed, senses, or resistance to bleeding out fortified temporarily, in order to try and persist. (This cannot increase attack potential or strength or negate the effects of whatever injuries you are facing.)
Warm Light/Cold Night - A blythe might be able to soothe minor wounds just basking in the energies that corrupt their body. Given a gratuitious amount of time, and as long as they remain relaxed and free of any stress or further danger, bythes can heal over the course of a long period of time, like between sessions, as if they recieved first aid overnight, but this effect only works during the time of day associated with their blythe affinity.
