Vitris Sanguine
Vitris Sanguine, more commonly known as "the robbers plague" or "the desecrators plague", is a viral disease caused by bites from Scarabaeus crystalloextraordinary pain, chills, difficulty moving, delusion, hallucinations, and blindnessimmediately
Vitris Sanguine is thought to have been common due to the Scarabaeus crystallo which carry the disease and have exoskeletons resembling gems or crystals and are therefore mistaken for ordinary valuables by grave-robbers and explorers leading to it being known as "the robbers plague" and "the desecrators disease". Thanks to modern precautions and better understanding by those who explore such areas the rates of infection have severely decreased and between 1890 and 1898 less than two-hundred cases were recorded and reported to the International Sanitary Committee of the Geneva Committee.
Records show that while once a common disease within the African continent Vitirs Sanguine has become rare and largely died out with the further understanding of its cause and the decreased presence of Scarabaeus crystallo. Nowadays most cases come from those who ventured deep within jungles or forgotten tombs hoping for treasure though there are cases of individuals contracting it from Scarabaeus crystallo that were found near populated areas.
