During the course of the Revolution Aza freed herself from the red strands of her god Ilmater, turning worship onto her sister, causing an ascension to demi god status.
When the Black Hand rescinded ties with their patron god Bane they turned worship towards Damali and dubbed themselves the guardians of the people in the name of her sacrifice.
